VI Package Manager (VIPM) > Installing VIPM > Running the Installer

Installing VIPM via command line (Windows Only)

The VIPM installer has the ability to run with special command-line switches that allow it to perform an install of VIPM without user interaction. In this mode, VIPM installs in the default locations. This is useful when installing VIPM on many machines via batch scripts and setup routines. This also allows you (for example) to include the VIPM installer as a component of another installer.

The command-line for silent install is as follows:

c:\vipm-xx.x.xxxx-windows-setup.exe /exenoui

This launches the EXE setup without UI. This is the most common option. In order to get a complete list of options use the following:

c:\vipm_installer.exe /?
